The company is already selling the Tata Sumo Grande and Tata Safari entry level SUVs car models in the Indian auto market and now the company has finally planed to enter the premium SUV car segment. So, it has produced the premium version of popular SUV, Tata Safari with new name of Tata Safari Merlin which has highly sophisticated features and specifications. And as per Indian auto enthusiasts it is good going of the Indian auto giant.

premium version of popular SUV is expected in price range of between Rs. 12 lakh (for base model) to Rs. 14 lakh (for top-end model) at ex-showroom. The highly sophisticated features and specs loaded Tata Safari Merlin is expected one step ahead than Mahindra Scorpio and newly launched Force One; and major competitor of Skoda Yeti and upcoming Mahindra XUV 500. To make the SUV decent in the segment, the company produced the new Tata car model on Land Rover Range Rover SUV platform which appears mindblowing.

The all new Tata Safari Merlin features and specifications are highly sophisticated which prove it decent premium SUV. Till now, the company has not displayed the Tata Safari Merlin pictures
but it has been spied hundred of time on the roads during taking test
drive. It has aggressive front that includes flared headlamps which
helps to clear visibility at night and dark; and sporty rear while two
sideways facing jump seats, luxury interiors, new and stylish dashboard
etc. are another new offering tweaks in the new beast. The all new Tata
Safari Merlin high safety features are ABS, rear view camera with reversing and LCD display in IRVM, dual airbags
for driver and co- driver etc. but all these are available only in
top-end model while the company is offering these features on mid and
base models too as optional.
The company has not made more changes under the new Tata Safari Merlin
hood. The all new Tata Safari Merlin is also offered in only diesel
engine model that is fuel efficient that current model. The new beast
comes loaded with the same 2.2L, VTT dicor engine which is available in
current running Tata Safari. This powerful engine of the SUV makes
maximum power of 140 PS at 4000 rpm and peak torque is 320 Nm at
1700-2700 rpm. This powerplant is mated with a 5 speed manual
transmission while an automatic transmission gearbox is also expected in
the new beast which would attract the customers. Beside this, there is
4x2 and 4x4 wheel drive variants will be offered in this premium SUV
too. The new Tata Safari Merlin mileage for both the 4x2 and 4x4 wheel
drive variants is different but it is much batter than old one. It is
expected this premium avatar of the popular SUV would achieve buzz
response to the customers.
